Can sex being viewed as bad before marriage be harmful?

I have been reading many stories of Christian women who are rasied with the bibical view that sex before marriage is wrong. But when they go to have sex with their new husband's, they suffer with viginitist often. Are we raising our girls to be terrified of sex? How can we better raise them to look forward to this sweet gift from God within the realms of marriage without making then fearful, ashamed, or overly anxious?
