Cursing. How should the Christian handle this?

I have a pretty firm conviction that cursing has no place in the Christian life, and I think I have some verses to back it up. Many of my good friends, including pastors, will casually curse in conversation. This is generally not out of anger, but cursing nonetheless. I know that this discussion generally breaks into two sides, cursing from the heart or cursing with the mouth. Cursing from the heart is definitely wrong, but does that extend to the words we use? I would argue that it does, but I would like to hear what you have to say.

My question is two-fold: 1) What is a reformed view on cursing? 2) How can I address this with people that freely curse?
