Family Size

Previously, in how I felt the Bible encouraged large families and from a handful of people that grew up in large families (6ish+) children that said they also wanted large families, I had it in my mind that it was ideal for families to be large.

But it wasn't until our recent church that we experienced large families. One has 6ish kids and I heard one of the older ones say that it is always like a zoo in their house, non-stop, always. Another family has four as of recently and the father shared with me that he feels guilty about not getting to spend enough time with the older two and building relationships with them, let alone the younger two that do not talk terribly much yet. It probably wouldn't be so bad if he didn't work so many hours. I'm not sure what the father of the larger family feels in that regard, but the mothers of both families appear to always be worn out.

I have been wondering lately, especially today while we are resting today, what is best. I am sure it varies based on the couple and situation, but would anybody like to share their thoughts on their family size (growing up, currently)? I imagine the annual survey has some of this information, but I'm curious about the anecdotal information in addition to just the numbers and I could not find this topic when I searched.
