Friend claims to have a spirit following him- questions and concerns.

Last year, an acquaintance of 5 years told me that he practices witchcraft by writing down a wish, such as "more confidence", converts it to some numbers, then burns the paper out of his window.

Question 1- is fake "witchcraft" witchcraft worthy of OT stoning? Or does it need to be real witchcraft to count as witchcraft, with real fruits? Or is is just the intent, even if it's just someone licking their pinky before every test to get a higher score?

Then he said that he once felt a spirit around him, asked the spirit's name, and it said "Galen Cairn" (sp?), meaning spirit of calming or something like that, and that it made him feel comforted.

So at this point he is 1) lying 2) delusional or 3) has a demon "around" him. He does not have ANY characteristics in common with possessed people in the Bible. No harming others, no self harm, no mute tongue, not prophecying about Christians as they walk down the street, not hanging out near graveyards, just seems like a normal dude that wears normal clothes, no tattoos/piercings or anything visual, that got bullied in high school (he's 26 now).

Other friends have told me to not let him leave any objects at my house and that I should be concerned about him leaving his spirit's "presence" here unknowingly when he leaves. He comes to my house for a guy's night once a week for a couple hours and we talk about tv shows and books (nothing demonic or questionable).

As far as I know, there are NO instance of objects in the bible have demonic power. As far as I know, there are also no instance of a demon possessing a house, or a possessed person able to let his demon linger at someone else's house.

Now I'm a Christian, so obviously there are red flags everywhere…but I'm not a hollywood Christian that just believes demons work like they do in movies…I also understand the Bible is not exhaustive on demonic powers and their limitations. I would also speculate that it is not a spirit of comfort sent from God, as he is not a believer.

So where do you guys fall on this? Should I seriously be concerned with him leaving a taco bell wrapper behind my couch, worrying that it has demon influence now? Should I seriously pray for the cleansing of my physical house when he leaves? Should I worry about the demons ability to influence me and my household– or just assume it "sticks" with him? One friend wants me to have guy's night at difference houses each week, so that we "spread out" his spirit's influence. I seriously doubt it works like that, outside of hollywood movies and people that know people that know people that know people who once said that's how it works.

I just want to love this guy and let him know that Christians are first and foremost love, and I know that means tough-love at times. I currently just pray before he comes over, and after he leaves in terms of "protective actions".
