Looking for a great Children’s Bible – bonus points if it doesn’t break the second commandment!

One thing we have resolved as a family for 2018 is to read the Bible together more. We have two children, aged 3 and 1.5, and we’d like to find a bible that is engaging enough to keep the attention of our littlest but has enough content that it will interest our eldest. Our eldest is quite clever (I know all parents think that) and gets bored with the toddler bibles we have tried in the past. Most of the kids bibles available seem very weak and/or moralistic. I’ve looked at the Big Picture Bible and the Jesus Storybook, but both just seem a little bit too wishy-washy from the samples I’ve read – that said, I’m happy to be wrong about that.

I also don’t think I’ve ever seen a decent Children’s Bible that doesn’t break the second commandment in every other page – is that just par for the course?

Any help or advice is appreciate!
