Partial Preterism Question

I've been struggling through my interpretation of the Olivet Discourse and how it ties into other end times scriptures. I have enjoyed reading Sproul's St. Andrews commentary on Matthew alongside scripture to get his take (partial preterism).

One of the many examples of conflict I'm running into is Matthew is 24:21 saying essentially there will be no tribulation in all of history as bad as the one that occurs in 70AD. I see the Holocaust being a much greater example of tribulation for the Jews, at least on the surface, with a death toll much greater than the estimates that I've read on AD 70.

How also does one explain the "pick and choose" interpretations on Revelation, seemingly trying to squeeze PP as fact by choosing which prophetic passages are symbolic and which are literal?

Basically if a PP would please present their case in a more in-depth manner that would be super helpful!
