Question about a specific Mosaic Law, Deuteronomy 24:16
This verse reads as such: "Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin."
My question is this: how does this verse jive with the concept of headship in the Bible?
Now, my concept of headship is minimal at best, I have never studied it, but it seems to be the case throughout Scripture, and Romans 5 is understood as presenting that.
It is curious to me, because we see this very specific law being applied in 2 Kings 14:6, but elsewhere (I am thinking the sin of Achan, and how his whole family died because of it, also the families of Koran, Dathan, and Abiram in Numbers 16) it does not seem to apply. How is my understanding of this deficient?
