Regulative Principle study resources

I've been thinking a lot about the regulative principle and trying to study the Bible and discern where I stand. I would love it anyone could recommend books (or other fairly rigorous materials) discussing/arguing for the various points of view. As I understand it there are 3 main schools of thought:

  1. Regulative Principle. Only sing the psalms (and other songs from the Bible), and use only voices.
  2. Regulative Principle. But effectively that means we can use any instruments we want and sing any songs we want because Psalm 150.
    • I believe this is the position John Frame takes in his book on worship, which is on my to-read list, but I would like to read something advocating for position 1 first so that I have more context.
  3. What is not forbidden is permitted in worship.

So what do you have for me /r/reformed? I'm not at all afraid of works that are on the more scholarly side of things.
