WTS vs SBTS – PLEASE HELP!

Hey Friends,

I have been whittling down my list of seminaries and I've come to WTS Philadelphia and SBTS as my two choices, I'd like your thoughts about which is a better school for someone preparing for Pastoral Ministry. I'm not a Presbyterian and I really want to come out of seminary with a very good handle on the Languages, would like to be able to read the NT well in greek without too much help (is that unrealistic?). My greatest fear is that I would come out of seminary with a big head and a frozen heart, I don't want this to be the case so i'm looking for somewhere that is Christ centred and gospel driven.

Any of the below will be helpful: a – Your opinion on both schools b – Which you think is better and why c – Which you think is best for my particular needs

All the best to you! Love you all very much!

Question about Southern Baptist Theological Seminary?

I wonder if anyone has any insights on this concern I have, I have been considering SBTS now considering Puritan Reformed Theo Sem (I’m not a presbyterian) due to the issue highlighted below.

I am fairly concerned about SBC being a very large school, I have heard that some classes are very large, and this worries me a little, primarily because one of my intentions in seminary is developing close relationships with good and Godly men who are my teachers and have been at it for a while, but in classes of 200+ students, I struggle to see how this can be meaningfully possible ?

This leaves me concerned that I could end up with a faculty that is quite distant, though I hope that this will not be the case.
