What do you think about D&D and tabletop games?

So I have always had a fascination with stories and epics, and when I was younger I was introduced to the game of D&D. The idea of playing a hero in a world full of monsters, endowed with power to slay the night, was too cool to explain. At first I was put off due to the surface level christian propaganda and tracks written by Chick "Publications". But eventually with more research I found that D&D is much like other means of entertainment, there can be ungodly forms and also godly forms. I have since played D&D and have found it an amazing way to fellowship with others, and has also helped me reach otherwise introverted individuals. What are your thoughts?
